Hey Cody,

I agree that Citi has been hamstrung by the Gov't, regulators, and that Fed ruling prohibiting big acquisitions.

But, I say the biggest factor which hamstrings operations is the substantial P/E discount awarded (I think appropriately) to Financial Supermarkets. That Fed ruling provided a timely excuse. But, the real reason Citi couldn't make any accretive acquisitions was simply that their multiple was too low relative to potential targets.

And that problem still persists.

That's why I believe Citi should not acquire Deutsche Bank right now. Instead they should breakup into 3 or 4 pieces.

On the question of union dues of GM workers its closer to one-eighth of your calculation. More to the point, without union contracts and solidarity, which ultimately raise economic standards for everyone, we'd all be working for Chinese wages.
